Job Responsibilities:
- Perform failure analysis to establish root cause of equipment or machinery failures.
- Perform routine metallurgical sample preparation and microscopic examination.
- Perform laboratory test in accordance with existing/new test methods or procedures.
- Laboratory tests involving Non-destructive testing, Positive Material Identification (PMI), SEM fractography, EDX analysis, metallography, hardness test, etc.
- Interpretation and evaluation of test results and prepare official testing reports to customers.
- Timeliness and accuracy to meet turnaround time.
- Assist in fulfilling the requirements for the effective implementation of ISO9001 & ISO/IEC 17025.
- Use the available resources in an effective and efficient manner.
- Ensure Good Housekeeping and Good Laboratory practice in the laboratory.
- Perform any other responsibility as assigned.
Job Requirement:
- Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree in Metallurgy, Materials Engineering, Material Science, or equivalent.
- Preferably with a minimum of 3 years of working experience in the related field.
- Experienced and skilled in Failure Analysis techniques including non-destructive testing, PMI, SEM fractography, EDX analysis, metallography, hardness test, etc.
- Strong analytical skills – Able to interpret and summarize analysis data into test reports.
- Candidates should be prepared to work in the laboratory and on-site.
- Good communication skills and high attention to detail.
- Advantage if possess certificates such as NIOSH OGSP Safety Passport or AESP (Authorized Entrant & Standby Person for Confined Space).
