Job Description: Quantity Surveyor (QS) - Contract/ Project Department
Key Responsibilities
- Budgeting and Cost Estimation: Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring accurate and detailed cost estimations that align with project requirements.
- Contract Management: Draft, review, and manage all project-related contracts, ensuring terms are in the company's interest and comply with legal regulations.
- Tendering and Procurement: Prepare and manage tender documents, participate in the tender process, and assist in the selection and procurement of suppliers and contractors.
- Cost Control: Monitor and analyze project costs, providing recommendations for cost-saving measures to ensure projects stay within budget.
- Project Progress Monitoring: Keep track of project progress and identify any cost implications, ensuring projects meet deadlines and quality standards.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks in contracts and project execution, and suggest appropriate mitigation measures.
- Liaison and Communication: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure clear communication and successful project outcomes.
- Reporting: Prepare and present cost reports, project updates, and other relevant documentation to senior management.
- Compliance: Ensure all activities comply with company policies, industry standards, and relevant legislation.
Qualifications
- Education: Professional Certificates, Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Experience: Junior 2-3 years of experience in quantity surveying, preferably in a developer or construction environment.
- Skills: Proficiency in cost estimation software, strong analytical skills, excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as RICS, CIOB, or equivalent are desirable.
- Personal Traits: Detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of working under pressure.
