The Embedded Software Integration & Verification Engineer is a key role within the Embedded Software Integration & Verification (ES I&V) team which aims to ensure ES components are integrated and verified in ES platform releases as well as making sure that platform releases are stable and documented. The role complies with the governance model for ES I&V.



You will have an eye for exceptional user-facing product quality, reliability, and user-centric design principles. It works with development teams across R&D and Information Technology, V&V Engineers, Product Owners, Project Managers, Service delivery partners and Quality Engineers.



The key expertise area for this role is in testing and verifying the embedded software of Cochlear products, characterised by scrutiny to any state or mode the products move between, while always ensuring standalone safety and efficiency.



Accountabilities

  • Complying with the governance model for Embedded Software Integration & Verification
  • Implement efficient processes for error reporting, tracking and management at ES platform release level.
  • Ensuring ES components are integrated and verified in ES platform releases and that platform releases are stable and documented
  • Execute verification of integration builds as required and work with component leads (in feature teams) on cleaning out integration build & verification issues.
  • Contributing to the development of ES I&V processes, infrastructure & tools
  • Following relevant quality procedures to deliver quality products and services and identify and support the implementation of continuous improvement



Key Incumbent requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in the field of computing/engineering/science or 2 years' experience in verification activities in a highly regulated environment
  • Experience with test driven ES development processes and tools
  • Solid understanding of ES methodologies & tools, embedded system continuous integration and deployment
  • Sound capabilities in coding languages such as Python, C or C#. Able to debug test scripts, write test cases in pseudo code
  • Demonstrated understanding of improving test efficiency through automation and test methodology processes and competencies
  • Experience with active implantable medical device development and regulatory requirements (Ideal)
