The Impact You’ll Make

At Lam, as a Strategic Commodity Manager, you play a crucial role in managing industry suppliers. You’ll develop and implement commodity strategies, align development deliverables, benchmark suppliers, negotiate agreements, and resolve delivery, cost, and production challenges. Navigating a highly visible and dynamic environment, your strategic expertise in implementing initiatives will support commodity availability, quality, and cost to maintain Lam's reliability and competitive edge.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and deploy new suppliers for critical technology in a fast-pace, high mix, low volume environment.
  • Development of outsourcing capabilities for capacity flexibility, and extensive lead time reduction.
  • Development of plans and metrics for annual cost savings.
  • Develop and maintain suppliers’ core competencies to support local/global business requirements
  • Manage supplier capacity plans and articulate constraints for long term planning
  • Negotiate contracts (purchase agreements, ISA’s and etc.) and identify/execute on pricing inflection points
  • Manage Lam liabilities at suppliers through claims and balance sheet review processes
  • Manage Lam working capital through lead time strategies including postponement, consignment, and inventory stocking strategies
  • Continuity planning and risk mitigation.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or Business-related field
  • A degree or equivalent is required with 6+ years of related experience in a supply chain role, as an individual contributor.
  • Proven ability to gain partnerships and excel on a cross-functional teams
  • Experience in procurement and supplier management desirable
  • Ability to interpret technical documents (i.e. blueprints/drawings/BOM)
  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills
  • Effective negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple processes and projects
  • Team player, independent and meticulous

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in sourcing weldment assemblies or gas fluid system
  • Experience in using SAP system
  • Skills on MS office tools

Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
