JOB PURPOSE
Provide proactive support to business performance and work closely with the business divisions of Sapura to deliver strategic recommendations and solutions to business and financial problems and the continuous improvement of performance tracking and monitoring mechanism as well as supporting Sapura’s strategic project delivery in line with corporate strategy and plans that includes corporate restructuring, cross-business alignment implementation, post-acquisition/merger integration as well as corporate and business transformation.
JOB RESPONSIBILITY
A. RESPONSIBILTY & ACCOUNTABILITY
Corporate Planning
- Deploy and cascade balanced scorecards / KPIs in line with the Company’s objectives and strategies to measure performance by assisting in developing operational parameters/performance indicators.
- Developing the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and 5YOP to ensure alignment against Sapura’s overall strategy through collaboration with the Business Divisions and acquiring support from Finance, HR and business support services.
Performance & Reporting
- To devise and recommend short to medium-term strategic and/or tactical plans to drive financial and operational performance through key insights from analysis of performance reports.
- Recognize pertinent issues and red flags to ensure achievement of strategic and financial targets through monitoring, tracking & reporting the performance of subsidiaries, joint ventures, associates, and other partnerships.
Strategic Projects
- Support the delivery of strategic projects that includes leading the application of in-depth knowledge of long-term strategic development and adapt know-how of organizational development in realizing Sapura’s overall organizational performance and long-term value.
Project and Joint-Venture Governance
- Developing the reporting governance framework and project cadence that includes organizing and producing periodic updates through extensive evaluation and analysis to meet complex business requirements for Sapura and respective businesses.
Organisational Excellence
- To propose the formulation of Sapura’s strategic project delivery and that includes identifying opportunities and planning for corporate restructuring, cross-business alignment, post-acquisition/merger integration as well as corporate and business transformation.
- Explore potential synergies in businesses to create/unlock value by cross-selling offerings, in-sourcing services or rationalizing of non-core / non-profit making businesses.
B. AUTHORITY
Stakeholder Management
- Forge and maintain strategic long-term partnerships and consultative working relationships with key stakeholders that includes authorities and business heads to safeguard the organisation’s interest and integrity as well as obtain insights and perspectives to enhance solutions, safeguard the organisation’s interest and integrity, and sustain productive collaboration.
People Development
- Nurture and sustain good relationship with Head of Department and Head of Section/Units in achieving department’s KPI and company-wide’s goals. Manage development of own and team’s skills and capabilities to ensure the right skillsets are in place to continuously improve work performance.
- Prepare individual development plan to map out career development and identify training needs for development of technical and soft skills; and provide support, feedback and coaching to nurture and retain talent for the organisation that will contribute towards organisational excellence.
Knowledge Management
- Establish and implement an appropriate knowledge/archive management database as a point of reference for posterity and to support success in future projects and enhancing the pace in development.
C. HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENT (HSE)
- Understand, implement and coordinate HSE SOPs & policies
- Exercise and promote good health, safety, and environment (HSE) practices
- Ensure that resources are adequate to cover safe methods of working and that reasonable welfare facilities are provided
- Ensure that work is carried out as planned and that all acts, regulations, and other relevant legislation are observed on site
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with major in Accounting & Finance or professional degree in finance/accounts, ACCA, CIMA, CFA or equivalent / Business Studies / Economics or any other relevant discipline.
- Technical Knowledge: Should have a strong understanding of statistics and quantitative data analysis methods.
- Keen business acumen – Business and financial judgment, and problem-solving skills are crucial requirements.
- Strong process orientation – A strong understanding of company processes and operations.
- Ability to lead and exercise authority through expertise, and experience, showing both strategic and operational understanding of the business model.
- Strong big-picture and strategic orientation yet detail focused.
- Strong sense of collaboration and ability to develop positive relationships with key business stakeholders and demonstrate respectful, constructive negotiating skills.
- Leadership ability to inspire and motivate others to perform well through continuous feedback.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with proven ability to present and explain complex information and suggest process improvements to a diverse audience including operations and Senior Management and the Board.
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
- Minimum ten (10) years working experience in finance / accounting / corporate planning / strategic management / performance management and monitoring / consulting and/or advisory.
- Possess good interpersonal communication and written skills in English.
- Good analytical skills, meticulous and able to work under pressure.
- Able to multi-task, pro-active, result orientated and able to interact with people at all levels.
- Good project management skills and able to deliver results within specific timeline.
