Role Purpose

Coordinate activities related to Regulatory Compliance within the project, collaborating with the Project Management Team (PMT) to ensure proper implementation of regulatory requirements. Develop, implement, and apply processes related to Regulatory Compliance, providing specialized technical support for all affected departments in the project.

Key Accountabilities

  • Procedures and Standards: Develop the Regulatory Compliance Plan (RCP) for the project according to corporate guidelines.
  • Technical Proficiency and Competency: Identify applicable regulations/legislations with support from Engineering Managers and other departments, ensuring inclusion in project documents.
  • Compliance and Audit Support: Plan and manage internal audits in accordance with corporate guidelines.
  • Training and Development: Organize training and workshops in line with corporate guidelines.
  • Project Performance Analysis: Provide weekly and monthly updates on Regulatory Compliance activities.
  • Process Efficiency: Act as the owner of the Regulatory Compliance Plan (RCP) and Regulatory Requirements Register.
  • Technical Support: Provide regulatory support to project teams and disseminate requirements to Discipline Lead Engineers, Package Engineers, and relevant team members.
  • Documentation Review: Review RFQ packages/documents to ensure regulatory requirements are incorporated.
  • Site Compliance Verification: Monitor site compliance and maintain records of verification reports, including evidence of non-compliance and corrective actions.
  • Stakeholder Management: Assist the Corporate Regulatory Compliance Manager as needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Safety) or related to Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE).
  • Desirable: Postgraduate qualifications in Safety Engineering or HSSE discipline.
  • At least 8 years of relevant industry experience, preferably in the oil and gas sector.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Regulatory Compliance processes.
  • Extensive experience providing technical support for regulation interpretation and implementation across project phases (Design, Construction, Commissioning).
  • Technical knowledge of relevant standards for machinery and equipment.
  • Experience with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISM Code, and international regulations such as MARPOL, SOLAS, API, IOGP, NFPA.
  • Desirable: Knowledge of Brazilian Occupational Health and Safety laws and regulations.
