Project Planning and Design
- Collaborate with design teams to incorporate M&E services into project design.
- Develop and review technical specifications for mechanical and electrical systems (HVAC, power, lighting, plumbing, etc.).
- Ensure designs meet local regulations, health and safety standards, and environmental sustainability guidelines.
Installation and Supervision
- Oversee the installation of mechanical and electrical systems, ensuring alignment with design and timeline.
- Conduct regular site inspections, ensuring high-quality work and adherence to standards.
- Resolve technical issues related to mechanical and electrical systems on-site.
Language and Communication
- Mandarin, English, and Bahasa Malaysia Proficiency:
- Communicate effectively with diverse teams, including local contractors, suppliers, and international stakeholders.
- Translate technical documents and communications when necessary to ensure understanding across all teams.
- Liaise with local authorities and vendors, ensuring smooth collaboration and compliance.
Budget and Resource Management
- Manage the budget for M&E works, ensuring cost control and financial efficiency.
- Oversee procurement of mechanical and electrical materials and equipment.
Testing and Commissioning
- Coordinate system testing and commissioning to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot issues during testing to ensure systems meet operational standards.
Maintenance and Operations Support
- Develop preventive maintenance schedules and ensure systems are regularly serviced.
- Optimize energy efficiency for mechanical and electrical systems to reduce operational costs.
Compliance and Health & Safety
- Ensure all M&E work complies with local regulations, safety codes, and industry standards.
- Implement risk assessments and health and safety measures related to mechanical and electrical works on-site.
Stakeholder Communication
- Act as the main point of contact for all M&E-related communications with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Provide regular project updates to management and stakeholders, ensuring transparency and timely reporting.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications are an advantage.
Experience
- 5-10 years of experience in managing mechanical and electrical systems in construction or engineering projects.
- Proven experience with HVAC, power distribution, plumbing, and lighting systems.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of M&E design, installation, and maintenance.
- Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit MEP, MS Project).
- Familiarity with local building codes and safety standards.
Language Proficiency
- Fluency in Mandarin, English, and Bahasa Malaysia (both spoken and written) is required to handle communications with multilingual teams and stakeholders.
