POSITION OVERVIEW

Reporting to the SE Asia Operations Director, the Data Centre Campus Director is responsible for overseeing the entire operations of a large-scale data centre campus, comprising multiple clusters. This role ensures the seamless integration of all operational aspects, driving excellence in service delivery, and supporting the company's growth strategy in the region.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and implement campus-wide strategies aligned with GDS International's business objectives and growth plans
  • Collaborate with the SE Asia Operations Director to set and achieve campus performance targets
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement initiatives across the campus

Operational Excellence

  • Oversee the overall performance of the campus, ensuring 100% uptime and compliance with customer SLAs
  • Manage multiple Cluster Operations Managers, ensuring cohesive operations across all clusters
  • Implement and maintain campus-wide policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Oversee large-scale maintenance projects and infrastructure upgrades

Financial Management

  • Develop and manage the campus operating budget
  • Identify and implement cost optimization strategies without compromising service quality
  • Collaborate with finance teams to forecast capital expenditure needs for campus growth and upgrades

Customer Relationship Management

  • Act as the primary escalation point for major customer issues
  • Foster strong relationships with key clients, understanding their evolving needs and ensuring high satisfaction levels
  • Collaborate with sales and business development teams to support campus growth initiatives

Team Leadership and Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Cluster Operations Managers and support staff
  • Foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous learning across the campus
  • Ensure effective succession planning and talent development within the campus organization

Compliance and Risk Management

  • Ensure campus-wide compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and certifications (e.g., ISMS, SOC2, PCI DSS)
  • Oversee the implementation of robust risk management strategies across all clusters
  • Maintain relationships with local authorities and regulatory bodies

Vendor and Stakeholder Management

  • Manage relationships with key vendors and service providers at the campus level
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders including IT, Security, and Facilities teams to ensure integrated operations

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in data centre operations, with at least 7 years in a senior leadership role
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale, multi-cluster data centre operations
  • Strong understanding of data centre technologies, industry trends, and best practices
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate large teams
  • Strong financial acumen and experience in budget management
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with C-level executives and key clients
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to drive innovation and continuous improvement
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in local languages is a plus
  • Advanced certifications such as CDCE, CTDC, or similar are highly desirable
