This position is responsible for directing, overseeing and leading the sales function and initiatives of multiple industries – Water, Energy, F&B and general Industries. for both ProMinent Fluid Controls Malaysia & ProMinent Fluid Controls (Far East) Singapore.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement & maintain the 3-5-year strategic sales plan together with the MD, the senior management team of ProMinent Malaysia & Singapore and the Regional Sales Director Asia-Pacific.
- Develop and implement annual sales budget, agreed by the MD.
- Work closely with the MD and the team to ensure all sales activities are aligned with the other departments to achieve the budgeted growths results of ProMinent Malaysia & Singapore.
- Direct, lead and oversee the sales management teams to achieve both individual and team goals & objectives.
- Meet with key clients and assist Industry Cluster Sales Manager, Sales and Regional Sales Managers with maintaining relationships.
- Ensure targets are delivered through people management, performance review, reward and individual recognition. Conduct forecast and pipeline review meetings with sales managers; ensure lead generation and pipeline growth will sustain revenue targets.
- Create KPI’s, track and drive them. Processes should continuously improve and further implemented.
- Continually assess current business distribution channels, develop and evaluate their performance and manage conflict ensuring alignment with territory plans.
- Develop the Key Account Business further by establishing good relations with the clients and ensure that ProMinent Malaysia & Singapore follows the international agreements.
- Prepare and present regular sales reports and assist MD in preparation of corporate report.
- Drive, develop and implement the direct focus of the sales organization towards an industry- and application driven approach.
- The aftersales/service business contains further potentials. Ensure we maximize this business from all our sales channels. Mapping the installed base and developing the suitable aftersales product portfolio is important.
- Maintains knowledge of regional/geographic market influences, customer and competitor trends and provides feedback loop back into the organization.
- Work with Strategic Marketing in planning of new customer campaigns. Establish the trade show budget and schedule and attend regularly at specialised trade fairs.
- Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status together with the senior management team of ProMinent Malaysia & Singapore.
- Contract and commercial terms & conditions review, negotiation and coordination with different stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field; with at least 10 years’ experience in or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered Economic and/or Engineering Degree
- Ability to see, plan for and execute strategies and ideas regarding the future of ProMinent Malaysia & Singapore
- Ability to handle, organize and coordinate multiple projects at one time and prioritize accordingly
- Proven history of using creativity and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
- Ability to think through challenges and provide proactive solutions
- Proven leadership. To have the ability to develop, coach and motivate sales staff
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written in English and Malay. Proficiency in Mandarin is a plus.

- P&L experience
- Willingness to travel frequently for business purposes (domestic, regional and international).
- Proficient in CRM Systems, ideally experienced in SAP C4C and SAP ERP
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Sales & corporate reporting experience
- Regional sales experience for Sales territory of Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines and Brunei.
- Strong awareness and sensitivity to market trends and industry developments.
- Experience in Sales and marketing for pumps, water treatment products, controller & sensor or other industrial & engineering products.
- Experience in contract and commercial terms & conditions review and negotiation.
