Key Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Oversee routine module design and collaborate with technical teams to ensure that circuit and process requirements are clearly defined and integrated into the board design.
- Conduct design reviews to minimize errors and apply expertise at key stages of the stage-gate PCB design process, while documenting the electronic requirements for optical module designs and platforms.
- Evaluate and review design projects from other engineers using a standard checklist, and provide constructive feedback focused on manufacturing, cost considerations, and design optimization.
- Review and validate layout designs according to the checklist for other team members.
- Work closely with PCB suppliers to ensure the feasibility of PCB/Flex designs and participate in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) assessments for special cases.
- Understand PCB manufacturing capabilities, compile engineering queries, and collaborate with DFM engineers to develop and refine Finisar design specifications.
Skills & Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Communication Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience with PCB post-processing tools such as CAM350, AutoCAD, and Blueprint.
- Proficiency with Mentor PADS, Cadence, Allegro, CAM350, AutoCAD, and Blueprint.
- Knowledgeable in RF, mixed-signal circuits, HDI, and IPC standards for PCBs and PCBA.
- Highly organized, decisive, and dependable.
- Strong team player with excellent communication skills.
- Proficient in both written and spoken English.
