Primary Duties & Responsibilities
• To lead the development of a robust vendor base for Indirect Materials by working closely with the stakeholders in the plant.
• Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery and reliability.
• To ensure purchasing activities is compliance with the company’s policies
• Work on cost reduction strategies while maintaining quality standards in line with company annual targets.
• Participate in cross-functional teams for project-related purchases
• Work closely with departments like finance, operations, and production to understand their needs and align purchasing strategies accordingly.
• Ensure compliance with legal, environmental, and ethical purchasing standards and established and maintain of appropriate internal control and risk management safeguards.
• Obtain timely price quotations (RFQ) and proposals (RFP) for services required by the stakeholders.
• Responsible for managing the PR and PO process and approvals for Indirect Materials. Ensuring that all purchases are purchased on a timely basis with the right quantity and price through timely issuance of Purchase Orders.
• Negotiate terms and conditions in supply/service agreements to ensure agreements are commercial advantageous to the company while minimizing risk.
• To develop and maintain necessary process improvement to achieve work efficiency
• Evaluate supplier performance and conduct regular assessments to ensure compliance with agreements.
• Report on purchasing metrics, such as cost savings and supplier performance
• Launching tender to secure best price and services when necessary.
• Perform other tasks or activities as directed
Skills and Qualifications
• Degree in supply chain management, business administration, finance, engineering, or any related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in Procurement/Purchasing field
• Previous experience in procurement or supply chain management, particularly in indirect purchasing under manufacturing environment.
• Experience in managing in indirect purchases with exposure in handing facilities, machineries, spare parts, equipment rental.
• Ability to read technical drawings and the understanding of Machining process.
• Knowledge of drafting and understanding Procurement Contracts
• Experience in civil engineering material purchase/service will be an added advantage
• Ability to analyze data and market trends to make informed purchasing decisions.
• Excellent presentation skills using M/S Power point.
• Experience in preparing and managing Tender Notice, Tender Documents and Contract Service Agreements, Request for Proposals and Tender Reports. Formulating Tender summaries and making the right proposals when selecting the Tender winner with strong justification.
• Strong background in Microsoft Excel with strong knowledge in Data Analysis and Pivoting.
• Strong negotiation abilities to secure the best terms and prices.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for supplier interactions and internal collaboration.
