To assist the entity in managing the regulatory (mainly AML & Sanctions) and reputational risk related requirements set out in:-

  • Relevant German/international – whichever is stricter – law and regulations.
  • Global policies set forth and the standards communicated by GM-CO

General / Compliance Culture / Compliance Advisory Service

  • Possess in-depth knowledge of Trade Finance and Services operations, specifically with respect to Letter of Credit, Guarantees, Import/Export Collection and other related documentations received by the bank (SWIFT Messages).
  • Facilitate Compliance of the entity with applicable banking and securities laws, regulations, and internal guidelines regarding AML/CFT and Sanctions.
  • In-depth knowledge and keep up to date with Trade Finance and Services governing rules such UCP, ISP, URC, ISBP Anti Money Laundering Guidelines and screenings, Sanction Regulations, and any other related policies that may come into effect from time to time, industry standard, internal bank policies, local and international landscape.
  • Assumes full responsibility for the Due Diligence team’s function. This includes daily transactions are processed timely, accurately, and efficiently in Trade AI.
  • Responsible in managing day to day operations – Daily Trade Finance case volume in Trade AI is completed according to set SLAs/ target given.
  • Maintain Due Diligence at the highest level of quality to protect the Bank from regulatory risk which could result into financial and reputational damage.
  • Work collaboratively with TPC Compliance Officer / Business Compliance to ensure all requirements by GMCO Frankfurt are met.
  • Work collaboratively with Due Diligence Refinement Team, Guarantee Business CTS KL, EC TPC team, Trade AI Support team and other stakeholder.
  • Quality – Ensure the team perform Compliance checking with highest quality in Trade AI.
  • Ensure Key Performance Indicators (KPI) are observed, and efforts are aligned to meet the required expectation – deliver high quality services to our business partners, adherence to SLA and TAT, while maintaining process efficiency, accuracy standards, productivity levels, quality & control measures and people management.
  • Ensure effective relationships with stakeholders both Internal and external.
  • Constantly review team’s and individual performance together with Head Of Due Diligence against the objectives and goals set. Develop strategies and provide an appropriate support, guidance and motivation to the staff to reach its goal.
  • Support and assist the Management in managing operational risk within the respective teams to avoid operational/reputational losses.
  • Initiate and streamline process relating to controls, productivity and service enhancement.
  • Ensure the timely escalation and effective remediation of issues
  • Identify and resolve business technical issues with system support group. Escalate issues to Head Of Due Diligence where attentions and senior intervention is required.
  • Communicate clear instructions to team members.
  • Monitor, track and evaluate transaction volumes, key controls, functional checks and provide daily / weekly / monthly analysis as appropriate to Head Of Due Diligence / any other unit.
  • Ensure staffs are equipped with sufficient needs, knowledge, skills and tools to achieve the required level of competency that facilitates them to perform their daily tasks effectively.
  • Participate in system testing to implement global strategy and fulfil business needs as and when required.
  • Supports Head Of Due Diligence and C-Levels in all initiatives for the betterment of the organization.
  • Perform any other duties which may be assigned from time to time by Head Of Due Diligence.

Key Performance Indicator (KPI) includes:

  • Productivity standards (volume, efficiency rate, accuracy rate, customer service standards, stakeholder management etc.).
  • Operational risk management (errors, losses, lapses in policy and procedures, etc.).
  • People management (talent development, succession planning, resource management and planning, employee welfare).
  • Process enhancements / initiatives with measurable ROI.

Requirement(s):

  • Preferably specialized in Banking/Financial Services
  • Sound working knowledge of national and international transaction management, documentary & Guarantee business.
  • Senior Manager with at least 3 years of working experience with Trade Finance and Services operations and in managing a big capacity team.
  • Familiar with business principles, operating guidelines and standard rules i.e. UCP, ISBP, Incoterms, URR, etc.
  • Familiar with Compliance, Sanctions, Embargoes, and Regulatory policies
  • Familiar with Trade documents in Trade AI
  • Good knowledge and understanding of International Sanctions & Embargoes Regulation
  • Good knowledge in Trade Based Money Laundering
  • ACAMS Certified / ICA TBML Specialist will be an added advantage
  • Flexibility to shift-work if required.
