Job Description

Lead the development, implementation and execution of culinary innovation through a blend of culinary arts and Food Science across assigned portfolio of products. Stay current on new trends and effectively communicate them. Focus on developing commercially viable differentiated and innovative products for the on-site production facility.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage R&D team and lead the development of culinary innovation.
  • New product development from ingredient sourcing to lab prototype development, sampling preparation, costing, trial run, product’s SOP & product’s specification, and refine recipe formulation for mass production purposes.
  • Able to advise R&D team on recipe formulation and compliance of Malaysia Food Act and Regulations.
  • Responsible for understanding culinary trends and delivering new and innovative products that meet customer needs. Maintain strong relationship with key customers.
  • Work closely with Sales Manager to develop new products to achieve business goals and targets given.
  • Coordinate with inter-department eg. Sales, Production, QA and QC to meet customers’ expectations.
  • Be the leader and people development.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of seven years experience in Food industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in food relevant field is required.
  • Required languages: English, Mandarin and Bahasa Melayu.
  • Required skills: Independent, managerial skill, analytical and organisational skills, communication and problem-solving skills, able to work in face-paced environment and meet goals.
  • Understanding on compliance of food safety standard such as ISO 22000, HACCP and HALAL requirements is beneficial.
  • Willing to work on Saturday and any other duties as deemed necessary.
  • Experience with retort system in an additional advantage.

  • Significant experience with product improvements and product lifecycle management
  • Practical Culinary experience
  • Creativity, culinary aptitude and a passion for working with food
  • Expertise in consumer food trends and the ability to identify and define key product quality and sensory attributes
  • Solid understanding of consumer food products brand management
  • Understanding of the private label retail food business environment and metrics
  • Influence/communicate cross functionally

Salary Range: RM6000 - RM8000
