Position Purpose & Summary:
- Provides technical leadership, trains, mentors, and takes initiative to assist junior staff, peers, and colleagues.
- Serve as a mentor to growing engineers, assist them with mastering gas filtration/purification product principals as applied to the design, testing, and evaluation of mechanical systems.
- The responsibilities will include cost, material, manufacturing process analysis, identification and evaluation of alternatives, design compliance, and tooling development.
- Support Engineering Management with timely updates on engineering progress, performance and staffing needs.
- Reporting directly to the Mechanical Engineering Manager, work independently, and with minimal supervision
- Provides frequent written and oral presentations, status reports, and updates, adapting and developing appropriate formats, presentations, and content for a variety of audiences.
- Develops engineering/product concepts that are innovative, high-quality, costappropriate, and satisfy all stakeholder's (customer, manufacturing, material, ) needs and requirements throughout the full Product Development cycle
- Leading efforts to create or update layout drawings, fabrication drawings and engineering change orders.
- Giving design review presentations and perform some fundamental types of analysis.
- Will be involved in the product development process before and after product introduction.
- Acts as liaison to vendors in regard to sourcing, developing and timely completion of tooling, fixtures and assembly equipment.
- Working from schematics, sketches and verbal instructions develops proposals and concepts for the efficient and robust production for gas filtration/purification product.
- Works as technical expert in mechanical engineering domain, responsible for technical solutions and engineering specifications
- Ensures that assigned projects are delivered on-time, to specification, and at or below targets cost by solid engineering plans, including quality, cost, schedule, and risk assessment.
- Ensure the quality, accuracy and completeness of the work related to engineering, design and drafting quality.
- Realize, studies, calculations, drawings, Engineering analysis (tolerance analysis, stress analysis, flow analysis, FEA) and the graphical representations, necessary to define the new concepts developed.
- Ensure successful development of mechanical tooling and production part qualification.
- Participates in business development and proposal preparation activities.
- Taking ownership of your work duties and showing initiative to take on extra tasks when needed.

Academic Qualification:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or similar subject.
- Proficient in Solidworks (Modeling, Routing/BOM, Simulation, EPDM)
- Preferred 3-4 years of design or related experience.
- Must have the ability to work with and/or assemble small objects and component parts
- Must be able to analyze and resolve product design issues of a broad scope using independent judgment.
- Excellent documentation skills (Specifications, Test Plans, Test Reports)
- 3+ years of experiences in leading the design, development, and launch of new products and familiar with HVM ( High Volume Manufacturing ) transfer would be surplus.
- Solid knowledge of mechanical properties, failure mechanisms and processing of engineering materials (such as stainless steel )
- Knowledge of engineering materials and fabrication processes
- Knowledge of engineering change management and document management concepts
- Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP is preferred)
- Strong mechanical design and analysis skills - The ability to develop and utilize free body diagrams, 3D CAD models, FMEA’s (failure modes & effects analysis), GD&T (geometric dimensioning & tolerancing), tolerance analysis, statistical analysis are required.
