Environmental, Occupational Safety, Health, Security & Sustainability Manager
Position Purpose
At Singapore, Malaysia & Brunei (SIMA), our people are our most important resource. This role is responsible for developing and implementing the Occupational Safety & Health (OSH), Environmental, Security & Sustainability program and processes in accordance with the requirements of The Coca-Cola Operating Requirements (KORE), and all applicable laws and regulations of Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei.
The primary objective of this role is to ensure compliance, sustainability, and measure performance to prevent serious injury and fatality, whether inside the facility or in the communities where the company operates, protect the assets of the company, and prevent any environmental impact.
Additionally, this position is responsible for integrating EOSHS activities into the overall plant management systems and routines.
Key Duties / Responsibilities
- Drive the implementation of Occupational Safety & Health (OSH), Environmental, Security & Sustainability program and programs to support bottler, business unit, and corporate EOSHS initiatives for SIMA.
- Develop and implement Occupational Safety & Health (OSH), Environmental, Security & Sustainability program and programs for the plant & warehouses in Malaysia and warehouses in Singapore (including Johor Bahru) & Brunei to cover total SIMA to ensure compliance with both business and local legal requirements.
- Maintain a safe and healthy working environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures, while complying with legal regulations in Singapore, Malaysia and Brunei.
- Develop and implement EOSH management systems (ISO 14001 & ISO45001).
- Ensure all workplace risks are assessed, and appropriate control measures are established for the plant & warehouse operations in Malaysia, Singapore (including Johor Bahru) & Brunei.
- Drive programs to enhance Occupational Safety & Health (OSH), Environmental, Security & Sustainability awareness among employees for SIMA.
- Perform annual compliance audits of the plant's Occupational Safety & Health (OSH), Environmental, Security & Sustainability programs and processes.
- Provide functional leadership to the Management Team to integrate Occupational Safety & Health (OSH), Environmental, Security & Sustainability goals, objectives, and initiatives into SIMA’s Annual Business Plans (ABP).
- Lead associate engagement activities, including safety committee meetings for SIMA.
- Establish procedures for evaluating safety, health and environment hazards associated with new processes, equipment, or materials, and recommend methods to control these hazards for SIMA.
- Ensure that key EOSH and security equipment for SIMA, such as security systems, emergency alarms, fire detection and protection systems, and pressure vessels, are properly maintained and inspected at set intervals.
- Lead the accident and incident investigation process and reporting, where needed to local authorities such as DOSH & MOM. Lead EOSHS Incident Management & Crisis Resolution (IMCR).
- Oversees a medical program for SIMA's that provides on-site first aid, nearby emergency care, and periodic medical surveillance for participants in Hearing Conservation and Respiratory Protection programs.
- Plan and prepare for emergencies, conducting training and drills for SIMA as needed to ensure that everyone knows how to respond appropriately.
- Coordinate and conduct Occupational Safety & Health (OSH), Environmental, Security & Sustainability training for all employees to maintain compliance and ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to support EOSH programs and initiatives.
- Maintain all necessary documentation, including records for safety and health program implementation, workplace evaluations, safety equipment inspections, injury and illness logs, incident investigations, corrective actions, and employee training programs for SIMA.
- Ensure all internal and external correspondence complies with company requirements.
- Always have the updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and engaging with professional organizations.
- Responsible for managing various environmental programs and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, standards (KORE, ATR), and internal requirements. Key responsibilities include:
- Waste management: Overseeing systems for both solid and scheduled waste disposal.
- Environmental Aspect and Impact (EAI): Assessing the environmental implications of SIMA's operations.
- Training support: Facilitating training programs related to EAI and chemical spill handling.
- Procurement and legal matters: Handling purchase orders, public relations issues, and legal processes.
- Authority liaison: Interacting with government agencies and regulatory bodies.
- Data management: Entering and analyzing data for authority monitoring and plant performance evaluation.
- Sustainability projects: Implementing initiatives to improve environmental sustainability.
- Compliance monitoring: Conducting regular checks for noise levels, local exhaust ventilation, stack emissions, industrial effluent, genset operations, and battery charging areas.

Education:
A Bachelor's degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Sciences, Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, Safety & Health, and Environmental Affairs is required.
Experience:
5 - 8 years experience relevant experience in FMCG/beverage manufacturing environment or any other related field with a strong work experience in food/ pharmaceutical or industrial manufacturing facility.
Language: English / Bahasa Melayu
Capability:
- Ability to interact with all personnel including from other departments
- Good and effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong functional knowledge of good practices and local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to occupational safety and health, environmental control, and security.
- Willingness to participate in any necessary training to gain additional knowledge where necessary and to keep up-to-date in these areas.
- Management, leadership and communication skills to motivate employees at all levels to adopt and become involved with necessary safety, health, environmental, and security programs.
