Role Description

This is a contract role for a Data Management Manager (Banking) - Mandarin Speaker based in Greater Kuala Lumpur. The role involves overseeing data governance, data management, data quality, analytical skills, and master data management on-site.

Job Purpose

Responsible for contributing to the Data Solutions & Strategy team in developing business solutions for within Risk Data Solutions & Strategy unit and/or across Risk teams, focusing on key strategic ER&I data-related initiatives & projects.

Qualifications

  • Ensures the department’s operations are in compliance with Group, local and regional regulations
  • Ensures the data required for regulatory reports submission are ready for usage as per agreed SLA
  • Degree in IT / Information Management / Computer Science from a reputable university
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in project management (added advantage if Risk related projects).
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in core banking application, loan origination systems and/or data warehouse / data mart implementation
  • Added advantage if prossses prior leadership / team lead role in an established banking/financial institution
  • Minimum of 4 years working in the banking industry
  • Sound knowledge in Basel, SCEL, and other related BNM regulatory requirements.
  • Sound knowledge in Data Management and Data Governance processes / controls
  • Sound knowledge Treasury product and other banking product features
  • Understanding on ETL design best practices
  • Knowledge in core banking application, loan origination systems
  • Knowledge in risk systems (e.g. credit scoring and rating systems, limit monitoring systems, Risk Weighted Assets (RWA) computation engines)
  • Knowledge in SAS application (SAS-EG / SAS-Base)
  • Knowledge in loan credit administration and operational process flow (e.g. loan application, approval, disbursement, monitoring, etc)
  • Ability to write SQL queries for data profiling and issues investigation
  • Ability to design logical data models
  • Strong communication, writing and presentation skills (English & Mandarin)
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Good stakeholder management skills and ability to communicate effectively with both IT and business divisions (local and regional)
  • Strong presentation and influencing skills, required for discussions with stakeholders; and knowledge transfer sessions (internal and/or external to the department)
  • Builds strong culture of team work and excellent service to the Risk data mart users
