We are seeking an experienced Area Sales Manager to join our dynamic team. Distributor Relationship Management

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with distribution partners to ensure alignment with the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for distributors, addressing their concerns, needs, and challenges to ensure smooth operations.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms of trade, and service agreements with distributors to optimize performance and cost-efficiency.

Performance Monitoring & Optimization

  • Monitor distributor performance through KPIs such as sales volume, delivery timelines, stock levels, and service quality.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews with distributors to identify areas for improvement and opportunities for growth.
  • Implement corrective actions or incentives to optimize distributor performance and achieve sales targets.
  • Collaborate with distributors to ensure compliance with company policies, promotional guidelines, and quality standards.

Route-to-Market (RTM) Strategy Implementation

  • Work closely with the Route-to-Market teams to ensure effective execution of distribution strategies, improving market coverage and product availability.
  • Ensure distributors are aligned with RTM strategies by optimizing routes, ensuring the right products reach the right retailers, and improving service levels.
  • Identify gaps in distribution coverage and develop strategies to enhance market penetration through distributor channels.

Sales & Distribution Planning

  • Collaborate with sales teams to develop and execute distribution plans that align with sales targets and market demand.
  • Ensure that distributors have adequate stock levels to meet market demand, especially during peak seasons or promotional periods.
  • Provide sales forecasts and support distributors in managing inventory to minimize stockouts or overstocking.

Market Analysis & Insights

  • Conduct market analysis to understand consumer demand, competitor activity, and distribution trends in different regions.
  • Provide feedback to marketing, sales, and product teams based on insights gathered from distributors and the market.
  • Leverage data and insights to continuously improve distributor performance and enhance market presence.

Promotion & Campaign Execution

  • Collaborate with the marketing and trade teams to ensure that distributors execute promotional activities effectively at the retail level.
  • Provide distributors with the necessary tools and information to run trade promotions, ensuring compliance with the company’s marketing strategies.
  • Monitor the impact of promotions on sales performance and adjust strategies as needed based on results.

Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure that distributors comply with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements, including quality standards, financial reporting, and ethical practices.
  • Collect and analyze sales and distribution data from distributors, providing regular reports to senior management on performance metrics and market trends.
  • Conduct audits to ensure that distributor operations align with company policies and identify areas of improvement.

Training & Development

  • Provide training and development opportunities for distributor teams to improve their knowledge of products, sales techniques, operational efficiency, and Perfect Store, in line with SCJ guideline
  • Conduct regular meetings with distributors to update them on new products, market trends, and best practices.

Required Skills / Experience / Competencies

  • Candidate must possess at least Bachelor’s Degree
  • At least 4-5 years working experience in distributor management and key-account management, preferably in Fast-Moving Consumer Good (FMCG) Industry
  • Knowledge in Distributor Management Systems (DMS) will be an added advantage
  • Fluent level in Bahasa Melayu, Mandarin and English
  • Strategic and Critical Thinking with strong analytical and negotiation skills, and strong presentation skill.
  • Must be proficient in MS Office (MS Excel & MS PowerPoint)
  • Must possess valid driving license, own transport and willing to travel.
