My client is a market leader with a foundation built on excellence. They are looking for the #1 person in the plant to lead the entire operations and respective departments. This role will see to it that you are someone with current experience as General Manager in heavy manufacturing having worked on sizeable products.

Your new role

  1. Strategic Leadership:
    Drive the development and optimization of our state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities. Collaborate with global organizations to align manufacturing strategies with business goals, ensuring efficient deployment of resources.
  2. Operational Excellence:
    Oversee the successful operation of our flagship facility. Lead recruitment, development, and motivation of manufacturing staff. Provide essential functional support to our global business operations.
  3. Safety and Compliance:
    Take personal responsibility for the safety of all employees, visitors, and contractors associated with our facilities. Adhere to global and local EH&S standards.
  4. Talent Development:
    Conduct systematic skills gap assessments and training needs analysis. Champion personnel development, with a focus on nurturing future leaders and succession planning.
  5. Policy Adherence:
    Ensure strict adherence to AP policies, procedures, and manufacturing standards across all fabrication processes.
  6. Project Performance:
    Deliver on quality, schedule, and cost commitments for critical projects.
  7. Global Collaboration:
    Foster strong relationships with Regional Manufacturing Teams and other company functions worldwide. Leverage global resources and synergies for mutual advantage.
  8. Competitiveness:
    Drive continuous improvement and maintain manufacturing competitiveness.
  9. Stakeholder Relations:
    Collaborate with relevant departments to establish and maintain relationships with government authorities, facilitating efficient project execution.
  10. Financial Oversight:
    Manage budget allocation and control for overhead and direct expenditure.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (additional education, including an MBA, desirable)
  • Proven track record in engineering, project management, and manufacturing roles
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Cross-cultural experience within a multinational organization
  • Sound understanding of business processes, contractual matters, and financial acumen
  • Experience in equipment, preferably in oil and gas or aerospace industries
