Interior Designer (Retail Commercial)

Objectives/Purpose:

The incumbent will assist in creating functional and visually appealing commercial spaces. This role involves supporting design projects from concept through to execution, while ensuring alignment with the Company’s brand and requirements.

Job Scope:

1) Design Conceptualization & Development:

· Assist in researching Company needs and the nature of commercial spaces to support design ideas.

· Contribute to creating detailed design proposals that reflect Company goals and incorporating aesthetic elements.

· Participate in Company consultations to understand the vision, brand identity and functional needs.

2) Space Planning and Layout:

· Help develop space layouts that optimize workflow, customer experiences, and employee productivity.

· Ensure designs comply with building codes, safety regulations, and accessibility standards.

· Maximize the use of space, ensuring the layout provides optimal traffic flow, comfort, and accessibility.

3) Design Execution & Material Selection:

· Support in selecting materials, furniture, and finishes that align with Company’s aesthetic and functional needs.

· Assist in creating 3D mock-ups and visual presentations for Company’s reviews.

4) Technical Drawings & Documentation:

· Assist in preparing design specifications, including measurements and material lists.

· Able to prepare Bill of Quantity for tender

· Revise designs based on feedback and prepare necessary documentation.

5) Project Management and Coordination:

· Help develop project timelines, ensuring adherence to schedules and financial constraints.

· Collaborate with team members, including contractors, to ensure design accuracy and project consistency.

6) On-Site Supervision & Execution:

· Monitor project progress and address any issues during construction to ensure quality standards.

· Assist in final inspections and ensure all finishing touches are completed to the expected satisfaction.

Qualifications / Experience / Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
• 2-3 years of professional experience in commercial interior design or a related field.
• Proficiency in interior design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCad, SketchUp, Sweet Home 3D, etc) is mandatory.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Strong creative and problem-solving skills.
