Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Design Leadership and other stakeholders to define, prototype, validate, iterate, and evolve the gameplay throughout the development lifecycle within Unreal Engine.
  • Ensure that the game “feels” the way it is supposed to within the Vision outlined
  • Define and refine Character Movements ensuring they are smooth, responsive, and engaging.
  • Implement intuitive control schemes that allow the players to interact with the game world
  • Create intuitive camera systems that push the players immersion
  • Quickly assimilate Designs and Knowledge of the current project(s)
  • Complete Task assigned within the current project at a professional level
  • Maintain documentation of design decisions
  • Collaborate across the teams to create engaging game content that aligns with the overall vision
  • Coordinate with Artist, Engineers, Production, QA, and other team members to ensure integration of design elements into the Game
  • Respond to feedback and use an iterative approach when designing
  • Work with the player in mind and push the mentality of “What would the player enjoy”
  • Drive self to continue to learn and remain current on all the latest industry trends


Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Standardization and Documentation: Demonstrated ability to standardize, create, document, and effectively communicate 3C (Character, Camera, Controls) features and metrics to cross-functional teams.
  • Ownership and Maintenance: Experienced in maintaining comprehensive documentation and serving as the primary owner for all 3C-related features and metrics.
  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Strong track record of collaborating with engineering, animation, audio, QA, and level design teams to implement and prototype 3C features and designs.
  • Test Gym Creation: Skilled in creating test gyms to showcase, test, and validate 3C features and metrics.
  • Playtesting and Iteration: Expertise in playtesting, analyzing feedback, and iterating on designs to optimize 3C mechanics.
  • Bug Fixing and QA Coordination: Proven ability to work closely with production and QA teams to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve bugs related to 3C features and mechanics.
