Role Description

• Teach English Language:

Deliver engaging lessons for secondary students, covering local and Dong Zong syllabi. Adapt teaching for various levels in preparation for SPM and UEC exams.

• Prepare Students for Exams:

Provide exam-focused instruction, focusing on all four skills - reading, writing, listening, speaking. Act as an examiner (interlocutor) when needed.

• Develop and Review Assessments:

Assist in setting, proofreading, and editing examination papers. Ensure quality and alignment with syllabus standards.

• Monitor Student Progress:

Track performance, identify areas for improvement, and provide targeted support. Maintain records as per school policy.

• Participate in Professional Development:

Attend department meetings, training, and workshops. Share strategies with colleagues to support team goals.

• Handle Administrative Tasks:

Complete lesson plans, reports, and required documentation. Attend parent-teacher meetings and other school functions.

• Support School Community:

Engage in school events and extracurricular activities as needed. Assist with other department projects and goals.

Qualifications

  • Must be a Malaysian
  • Bachelor’s Degree in English, Education, or a related field
  • TESL, TESOL, TEFL, or related teaching certification
  • Minimum of 2 years’ English teaching experience at the secondary school level.
  • Strong command of English - CEFR level C1 or C2 preferred
  • Experience with national (SPM) and/or Dong Zong syllabi is highly preferred
  • Skilled in lesson planning, classroom management, and student assessment.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills for collaboration with colleagues and engaging with parents.
  • Willingness to participate in professional development and contribute to department initiatives.
