What You’ll Do
This position leads the implementation of the Environmental, Health, Safety (EHS) strategy and programs for Eaton’s EA. Additionally, this position is responsible for leading tactical EHS support for the office, Sales and Service Org. The EHS leader supports the creation of a strong culture that engages employees in the achievement of the company’s goal of zero EHS incidents. This position ensures that programs are developed, implemented and sustained to assure compliance with local, state and federal regulatory requirements and conformance with Eaton Corporation mandates. Addionally this role has ownership is responsible for the development, implementation and continuous improvement of related processes.

- Leads division EHS goals and objectives through the Management of Environmental Health & Safety (MESH) Plan complimented with the service division’s safety program in support of corporate, regional, and business group EHS strategic initiatives designed to drive EHS culture, compliance, and results
- Drives and promotes Eaton’s Zero Incident Safety culture throughout the division ensuring a risk-based approach at all levels prioritizing efforts to address the most significant risks with a focus on robust and efficient execution of key processes.
- Identifies action-based EHS goals for the division’s extended leadership team members to support achievement of the divisions EHS goals and objectives
- Monitors, analyzes, and reports division metrics to ensure continuous improvement through regular cadence of performance reviews.
- Manages identification of training needs, development and maintenance of training processes to ensure that required EHS training is defined, addresses required content and is tracked to completion.
- Drives cycles of improvement of the written and practiced safety procedures and training deployment for the division
- Leads team to conduct investigations and root cause analysis to eliminate hazards across the division.
- Leads the division in crisis and incident response situations in this 24 hour/7 day a week service business
- Analyzes best practices and establishes a system to manage knowledge sharing among division locations and employees. Integrates and supports Corporate, Group, and Regional EHS initiatives designed to drive best practices across Eaton
- Leads team of resources responsible for managing contract compliance and customer entrance requirements related to EHS
- Manages and guides zone/cluster/country safety resources for deployment of the EHS program across the division
- Responsible for submitting permits and reports and maintains compliance with regulatory record keeping and reporting requirements
- Coordinates security and loss control efforts for the division
- Creates and facilitates EHS engagement through EHS teams and committees needed to accomplish the targets and objectives for the year
- Maintains and manages relationships with customers and ensures “clearance” requirements to allow access to Government and Military sites
- Leads efforts to ensure that key EHS operational controls are in place and that EHS action items are resolved on a timely basis
- Pursues third party recognition for programs that establish the site and Eaton’s EHS program as world class
- Uses established EHS data processes such as MESH PRISM & BENCHMARK to manage data such as injuries and illnesses, environmental metrics, risk assessments, EHS action items and other pertinent information
- Builds organization capability by providing EHS training and development of EHS professionals to ensure each site within the sub-region has the appropriate technical and functional competencies."
- Bachelor Degree in Occupation Health and Safety / Science / Engineering or equivalent with certified on “Safety and Health Officer Professional Level”"
- At least 7 years working experiences in electrical system, manufacturing, project and field services or related field, of which 3 years should be in a supervisory capacity and 3 years in in Health, Safety and Environment"
- Comprehension of relevant company and legal EHS requirements.
- Behavioral safety techniques, such as ABC model, safety coaching, consequence management
- Safety leadership and cultural development programs
- EHS performance management techniques
- Subject matter expert in at least one of the EHS functional disciplines (Occupational Health, Environmental, Safety, or EHS Systems)
- Projects management and business process improvement
- Accident investigation and root-cause analysis"
- Effective communicator within environments ranging from shop floor, to operations leadership stakeholder groups, to business group staff, and Eaton senior leadership
- Ability to lead and support cross-functional process improvement teams
