Job Summary: We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Employee Relations Expert to join our Human Resources team to support our APAC operations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing and resolving complex employee relations issues, fostering positive employee relations, and maintaining a fair and respectful work environment across a culturally diverse region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert advice and guidance to managers and employees on a wide range of employee relations matters, such as performance management, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
- Investigate and resolve complex or sensitive workplace issues such as harassment allegations, work complaints, or other employee concerns, ensuring legal compliance and minimizing risks.
- Develop and implement employee relations policies considering the cultural and legal differences across the APAC region.
- Facilitate communication among employees and management by providing consultation and negotiation regarding issues affecting morale, performance, development, and organization culture.
- Analyze employee relations trends and provide proactive solutions to address potential workplace issues.
- Conduct training and workshops for managers and employees on topics such as workplace ethics, diversity, and inclusion, conflict resolution, and other relevant HR topics.
- Leverage employee feedback mechanisms such as surveys, town hall meetings, and one-on-one meetings to identify and address employee relations issues proactively.
- Partner with the legal department to ensure all employment actions are compliant with regional laws and regulations.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with labor unions and employee representatives, where applicable.
- Manage and oversee the fair and consistent application of company policies and practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Psychology, or a related field. A graduate degree or professional certification in HR/ER is a plus.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in an Employee Relations or HR Generalist role, with significant emphasis on employee relations and a deep understanding of employment law, preferably within the APAC region.
- Demonstrated ability to handle and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Strong cultural awareness and sensitivity to navigate the various cultural nuances in the APAC region.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Proficient in both verbal and written communication with a talent for clear and effective communication across all levels of an organization.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Working Conditions:
- Travel may be required depending on organizational needs and location of stakeholders.
