Direct Health Care Services: Assess and treat students and staff with acute illnesses, injuries, and medical conditions. Provide emergency care and first aid, including managing crises until advanced medical help is available. 2. Health Screenings and Assessments: Conduct routine screenings (e.g., vision, hearing, scoliosis) and maintain accurate records. Identify and report communicable diseases, implementing necessary measures to reduce transmission. 3.Health Education and Promotion: Educate students, families, and school staff on health topics, such as nutrition, hygiene, and preventive care. Develop and present programs or workshops that encourage healthy lifestyles. 4. Record-Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date health records, immunization records, and other medical information. Complete reports as required by the school administration and public health agencies. 5.Collaborative and Consultative Role: Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and administrators to support students with medical or emotional needs. 6. Health and Safety Compliance: Develop and enforce health and safety policies within the school (e.g., infection control practices). Participate in the development and implementation of emergency preparedness plans and drills. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required; certification as a school nurse may be required or preferred. Experience: Previous experience in pediatric, public health, or school nursing is advantageous. Skills: Strong assessment and clinical skills, particularly with children and adolescents. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly. Familiarity with state and federal regulations regarding student health.
