A storehand is responsible for various tasks related to receiving, storing, and distributing goods within a warehouse or distribution center. The role requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Receive deliveries of packaging materials from suppliers. • Check for accuracy against purchase orders and inspect for damages. • Store materials efficiently, an ensuring they are easily accessible and safe. • Issue packaging materials to production according to the pick list, record in the system, and maintain proper documentation. • Report shortages, discrepancies, or damage to the section/department head. • Assist in maintaining accurate stock levels and managing stock locations for easy retrieval during order picking through routine checks. • Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols when handling packaging materials. • Follow all relevant regulations and safety standards for the storage and handling of materials. • Keep the storage area clean and organized. • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of storage equipment. • Follow up on any material returns to customers or suppliers based on documentation and labels. • Prepare monthly stock records with proper filing. • Assist with daily tracking, weekly, and monthly stock counts and balance reports. • Be open to cross-training for other assignments.
