Job Title: Librarian Location: Spectrum International School Putrajaya Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Librarian to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing library resources, assisting patrons, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations of the library. This position is perfect for someone passionate about literature, research, and community engagement. Key Responsibilities: - Manage and organize the library's resources, including books, digital materials, and databases. 2. Assist patrons in locating information, using library resources, and recommending materials. 3. Plan and conduct library programs and events for various age groups. 4. Maintain and update the library catalog and digital databases. 5. Oversee the circulation and return of materials, including shelving and inventory control. 6. Train and supervise junior staff or volunteers as needed. 7. Stay current with trends in library science, digital resources, and emerging technologies. 8. Collaborate with schools, organizations, and community groups to enhance outreach efforts. 9. Ensure a welcoming and inclusive environment for all library patrons. Qualifications: 1. A Master’s degree / bachelor degree in Library Science (MLS/MLIS) or related field. 2. Experience in a public, academic, or special library setting preferred. 3. Strong knowledge of library systems, including cataloging and reference services. 4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 5. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. 6. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
