BIM Electrical Engineer

• Responsible in ensuring the amount of load that can be used to calculate the electrical load of the building, taking into account the various types of equipment and appliances that will be used. • Design electrical system systems, including sizing and placement of electrical panels, distribution boards and circuits. • Plan and route cables throughout the building, avoiding obstructions and ensuring all components are properly connected. • Ensure that there are no clashes between the electrical system and other building components, such as structural elements and HVAC ducts. • Collaborate with mechanical BIM for coordination of work of different trades, such as electricians, plumbers and HVAC contractors. • Planning and designing lighting systems for buildings, taking into account factors such as desired lighting levels, energy efficiency and aesthetics. • Ensuring Power Distribution and power distribution systems for buildings and electrical equipment according to the standards set and required to operate in a safe and efficient manner. • Designs grounding and bonding systems for buildings, ensuring all electrical components are properly grounded and bonded to protect against electric shock and other hazards. • Ensures design accuracy, and helps identify and correct potential design errors early in the design process, reducing the risk of rework and delays during construction. • Streamline the electrical planning process, making it more efficient and cost-effective. • Help reduce the risk of electrical hazards, such as electric shock and arc flash, by ensuring electrical systems are properly designed and installed. • Communicate and collaborate to assist different stakeholders involved in the electrical construction planning and process. • Maintaining equipment and assets and performing calibrations Improved asset management: BIM can be used to create digital twins of electrical systems, which can be used for asset management and maintenance purposes.
