BIM Mechanical Engineer

• Using software to create 3D models of mechanical and electrical (M&E) systems. • Ensure the designed model meets technical specifications and customer standards. • Perform analysis and simulations to optimize designs and ensure energy efficiency. • Produce detailed drawings such as floor plans, schematics and isometrics for M&E installations. • Provide complete technical documentation including material specifications and component lists. • Ensure construction drawings are easy to understand by the site team and sub-contractors. • Hold regular meetings with the project team and sub-contractors to review progress and resolve technical issues. • Ensure BIM models are consistent with other disciplines such as architecture and structures. • Prepare progress reports and update all stakeholders on changes in design. • Manage BIM files and ensure the latest version is shared with all stakeholders. • Provides a data management protocol for storing and archiving models and drawings. • Using collaborative platforms such as BIM 360 to facilitate data sharing. • Assist the construction team by preparing BIM models used for work planning and scheduling. • Use BIM models to manage materials, estimate costs and monitor construction progress. • Provide as-built models for building operation and maintenance after project completion. • Develop consistent BIM guidelines and procedures for use in all projects. • Train new and existing staff on best practices and use of BIM software. • Research and recommend the use of new technologies such as laser scanning and drones for site data collection. • Ensuring the company is at the forefront of using the latest BIM technology. • Provide attractive 3D models for use in presentations to clients. • Prepare cost estimates and schedules based on BIM models for tender preparation. • Conduct periodic audits of BIM models to ensure accuracy and quality. • Resolve any inconsistencies or issues detected in the model. • Act as the primary liaison with the client on matters relating to BIM models. • Provide progress reports and resolve any customer concerns or requests regarding the model.
