Job Summary: The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for managing all aspects of quantity surveying and cost management for construction projects. This role involves overseeing the budgeting, forecasting, and financial management of projects to ensure they are completed within budget and on time. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in quantity surveying and be skilled in managing complex projects, negotiating contracts, and leading a team of junior surveyors. Key Responsibilities: Cost Management: Prepare and manage project budgets, cost plans, and cash flows. Conduct cost analysis and forecasting to ensure financial efficiency. Implement cost control measures and provide regular financial reports. Contract Administration: Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers. Manage changes to the project scope and associated costs. Resolve contractual disputes and manage claims and variations. Project Management: Oversee the quantity surveying team and provide guidance and support. Monitor project progress and financial performance, providing recommendations for improvement. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and architects to ensure alignment with project goals. Procurement: Develop and manage procurement strategies and processes. Evaluate and select subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness. Prepare and issue tender documents and manage the bidding process. Client Liaison: Maintain strong relationships with clients, providing updates and addressing concerns. Ensure client satisfaction through effective communication and problem-solving. Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and industry best practices. Prepare detailed reports and presentations for stakeholders. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. Professional certification (e.g., MRICS) is preferred.
