Currently seeking an accomplished finance leader to join the team as Group General Manager, Finance, and spearhead the financial strategy across our business divisions.

Role Summary:

The Group General Manager, Finance will play a critical role in leading the conglomerate’s financial operations and strategy. This role requires a visionary leader with strong business acumen and the ability to drive financial performance, risk management, and long-term strategic planning. The ideal candidate will be experienced in overseeing complex finance functions across diverse industries and have a proven track record in transformational leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

1) Financial Strategy and Planning

  • Develop and execute the group-wide financial strategy in alignment with the company’s long-term objectives.
  • Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes for all business units.
  • Provide financial insights and analytics to the executive team to support decision-making and enhance shareholder value.

2) Financial Reporting and Compliance

  • Oversee preparation of consolidated financial statements in compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP).
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to stakeholders, including the board of directors and regulatory bodies.
  • Maintain robust financial controls and uphold compliance with statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements across jurisdictions.

3) Risk Management and Corporate Governance

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate financial and operational risks across the organization.
  • Develop and implement risk management policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Strengthen corporate governance frameworks, ensuring adherence to best practices in accountability and transparency.

4) Treasury and Cash Management

  • Manage group cash flow, capital allocation, and liquidity planning to support business growth.
  • Lead treasury functions, including debt management, forex exposure, and capital structuring.
  • Oversee relationships with financial institutions and secure financing solutions as needed.

5) Leadership and Team Development

  • Lead and mentor a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
  • Provide development and growth opportunities for finance talent within the organization.
  • Act as a strategic business partner to divisional heads, aligning finance functions with operational goals.

6) Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) and Investment Analysis

  • Evaluate potential M&A and investment opportunities to support growth and diversification.
  • Conduct financial due diligence, valuation analysis, and post-acquisition integration planning.
  • Provide recommendations to the executive team on strategic investments and divestitures.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field; CPA, CA, CFA, or equivalent qualification preferred. MBA or advanced degree in finance is an advantage.
  • Minimum of 15 years in finance, with at least 8 years in senior leadership roles within a large organization or conglomerate.
  • Proven experience in relevant industries, e.g., manufacturing, property development, or FMCG and familiarity with multi-industry portfolios.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards (IFRS/GAAP), financial analysis, and M&A. Proficient in ERP and financial management software.
  • Excellent people management, team development, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Sharp financial acumen with a strategic mindset and the ability to provide actionable insights.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information to senior stakeholders.
