Senior Teaching Fellows are expected to contribute actively to teaching and learning within the university, primarily at undergraduate level. They will be principally engaged in education related activities including the scholarship of learning and teaching to advance the University’s goal of education excellence and innovation. The incumbent will be expected to maintain currency with the discipline and/or professional practice, and carry out activities to further develop their scholarly and professional expertise relevant to the discipline. A Senior Teaching Fellow works with support and direction from Academic staff classified at Level C and above and with an increasing degree of autonomy as the academic gains in skill and experience. The appointee is expected to be aware of current areas of scholarship and development in communication and media studies. The appointee will contribute mainly to the fast-growing Masters of Communications and Media Studies, ideally teaching subjects in digital media and communication as well as contemporary global media industries. Experience in teaching industry-oriented postgraduate programs is desirable. The role will be held by an enthusiastic and highly motivated academic with a proven track record in communication and media studies.
