The Resident Engineer shall perform various functions to ensure the successful completion and quality of construction projects.

The duties and responsibilities shall include:

  • Review project documents, including work programmes, method statements, material submissions, inspection checklists, test plans, shop drawings, survey data, material approvals, temporary works design, as-built drawings, and Testing and Commissioning Procedures.
  • Monitor and inspect construction activities to ensure compliance with design specifications, codes, standards, and good engineering and construction practices.
  • Ensure all major temporary works installations by contractors are as per approved drawings by Professional Engineers.
  • Ensure the issuance, administration, and closure of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) in accordance with procedures.
  • Solve technical problems encountered on-site due to discrepancies on drawings, method statements, or unforeseen conditions.
  • Liaise with designers for all Technical Queries and Requests for Information.
  • Oversee the quality control processes and ensure that all materials and workmanship meet the required standards.
  • Implement and enforce all safety requirements in method statements, Inspection and Test Plans (ITP), and contracts.
  • Prepare and submit weekly and monthly reports comprising progress of works, QAQC, and Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) issues.
  • Maintain accurate site records of daily activities.
  • Verify the completion of works and certify the relevant completion certificates.
  • Participate in joint inspections with relevant parties for handing over works.
  • Arrange and chair site meetings, or any other requested meetings covering technical, safety, and progress issues, and prepare minutes of all such meetings.
  • Monitor the approval issued by relevant local authorities and agencies to contractors regarding the execution of works.
  • Attend meetings including Progress, Coordination, Technical, Monthly, Safety, and Claim meetings, as needed.
  • Check and verify contractors' progress claims and as-built drawings.
  • Monitor and supervise geotechnical works (bore piles, micro piles), structural works (RC and steel structures), and civil works (road, drainage, water supply, sewerage).

Qualifications

  • Have at least Bachelor Degree of Civil Engineering.
  • Have 10 years of experiences in related field.
  • Have the ability in monitoring, creativity, problem-solving, technical proficiency, blueprint reading, leadership, and interpersonal communication.
