Job Responsibilities
- Ensure all underwriting matters adhere to the Company’s Underwriting and Treaty Guidelines.
- Explore business opportunities, especially within new Ecosystems such as digital Platforms.
- Provide timely and competitive quotation and technical support to Marketers, Agents, Brokers, and other Partners.
- Market Underwriting including meetings/negotiations with all Distribution Partners.
- Establish a Growth Business Plan for the respective Portfolio and follow up on the execution/implementation.
- Build relationship with professional reinsurers to get support on specialized Marine Classes of Business.
- Determine the retention level in accordance with the Company’s Underwriting and Treaty Guidelines.
- Ensure all referrals from Marketers, Agents, Brokers, and other Partners are attended to in a timely manner.
- Provide technical advice and support on underwriting matters to Marketers, Agents, Brokers, and other Partners.
- Embrace & provide Product, System, and Process knowledge.
- Provide technical training to identified key Sales colleagues.
- Ensure reinsurance placement is in order prior to risk inception.
- Perform Portfolio Management by analysing Marine Portfolio performance and taking respective action where necessary.
- Analyse Claims Frequency and Severity within the respective Portfolio to take respective action where necessary
- Assist immediate superior to perform any tasks as assigned.
- Graduate or Diploma in MII.
- Growth Mindset and capability to actively drive and support Business Development
- High level of confidence to deal with Business Partners across all Distribution Channels
- Open-minded Team Player with strong communication skills to drive change.
