Epsom College in Malaysia is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Resident Tutor to join our academic team. The Resident Tutor will play a vital role in supporting student learning and development, providing academic assistance, fostering a nurturing environment, and contributing to the overall well-being of students within the college community. Key Responsibilities: 1. Academic Support: - Provide subject-specific tutoring and mentorship to students, tailored to their individual academic needs. - Assist with homework, projects, and exam preparation. - Organise and lead study groups and academic workshops. 2. Student Well-Being: - Build positive relationships with students to foster a supportive learning environment. - Act as a point of contact for students’ personal and academic concerns. - Support students in their social and emotional development, encouraging resilience and independence. 3. Engagement and Activities: - Plan and facilitate extracurricular activities, clubs, and events that promote student interests and skills. - Encourage student participation in sports, arts, and other leisure activities to promote a well-rounded education. 4. Collaboration and Communication: - Work closely with teaching staff to monitor student progress and develop effective support strategies. - Maintain regular communication with parents and guardians regarding student performance and well-being. - Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities. 5. Residential Duties: - Supervise and manage the residential environment, ensuring a safe and secure atmosphere for all students. - Enforce college policies and promote a culture of respect, responsibility, and inclusion. - Participate in on-call duties and emergency response procedures when required. 6. Qualifications: - A diploma or degree in Education, Psychology, Music, Physical Education, or a related field. - Native English speaker. - Previous experience in tutoring, mentoring, or teaching, preferably in a residential or boarding school setting. - Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with students from diverse backgrounds. - Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team and engage with parents, staff, and the community. - Enthusiastic, approachable, and patient, with a passion for education and student development.
