Material Planner

Responsibilities: - Material Planning and Forecasting: - Develop and manage material plans based on production schedules, customer orders, and forecast data. - Monitor stock levels, forecast demand, and schedule timely orders to ensure material availability. - Analyze inventory trends to optimize stock levels and reduce holding costs. Customer Coordination: - Liaise with the Customer Planning Team to understand material requirements and align planning processes with customer needs. - Coordinate with the Customer Planning Team to resolve discrepancies in forecasts and inventory expectations. - Collaborate with customers to ensure timely updates and adjustments to material requirements as needed. Inventory Control and Optimization: - Track inventory across multiple locations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies. - Leverage on-site inventory effectively to meet production and operational needs, minimizing reliance on external sources. - Monitor and manage inventory levels to avoid shortages or excess stock. - Support cycle counts and physical inventory processes to maintain accurate records. Data Analysis and Reporting: - Generate regular reports on inventory status, usage trends, and material requirements. - Provide data-driven insights to optimize planning processes and address any gaps. - Use ERP/MRP systems to update and maintain accurate records of material availability and orders. - Cross-Functional Collaboration and Task Management: - Work closely with Production, Procurement, and Warehouse teams to support seamless operations. - Coordinate with Sales and Customer Service to align materials planning with order fulfillment. - Take on cross-tasks as required to support team objectives and ensure operational efficiency. - Assist with project planning for new product introductions or production changes. Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. - Proven experience as a Material Planner, Inventory Planner, or similar role in supply chain or manufacturing. - Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). - Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and ability to identify patterns in data. - Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams. - Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to managing challenges. Preferred Skills: - Experience in lean manufacturing or supply chain optimization techniques. - Knowledge of inventory management best practices and supply chain principles. - Familiarity with SAP, Oracle, or other ERP/MRP software.
