Job Summary: - The Environmental, Health & Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring a safe, healthy, and environmentally compliant workplace in accordance with Malaysian regulations, including those set by DOSh (Department of Occupational Safety and Health) and DOE (Department of Environment). This role involves conducting regular inspections, implementing safety procedures, training staff, managing workplace risks, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental laws. The EHS Officer plays a critical role in promoting a culture of safety, while minimizing risks related to occupational health and environmental hazards. Key responsibilities include overseeing Scrubber Operations (CePSO), Effluent Treatment Systems (CePIETSO-PCP), Scheduled Waste Management (CePSWAM), and serving as the OSH Coordinator to ensure that all operations meet the regulatory requirements and maintain the highest standards of safety, health, and environmental stewardship. Key Tasks & Responsibilities: • Environmental Compliance: Ensure that the company complies with all Environmental Quality Act 1974 regulations and other environmental laws, including proper waste management and emissions controls. • Waste Management: Oversee the management of scheduled wastes, including collection, storage, disposal, and documentation in accordance with DOE (Department of Environment) regulations. • Environmental Monitoring: Monitor environmental conditions in the workplace, such as air quality, water quality, noise levels, and chemical exposure, and ensure compliance with legal standards. • Sustainability Programs: Develop and implement sustainability initiatives, including recycling programs, energy efficiency measures, and reducing the company’s environmental footprint. • Conduct Environmental Audits: Regularly perform environmental audits to evaluate compliance with regulations and identify areas for improvement. • Health and Safety Risk Assessment: Conduct assessments of health-related risks in the workplace, including ergonomics, chemical exposures, and noise, and recommend solutions. • Emergency Response for Environmental Incidents: Develop and maintain emergency response plans for environmental incidents (e.g., chemical spills, fires). • Report and Document Environmental Impact: Prepare environmental reports and records for DOSh and DOE compliance purposes, including data on environmental monitoring and corrective actions. • Training and Awareness: Conduct training on environmental policies, safety procedures, and emergency protocols.
