DISTED is an established premier college in Penang offering a variety of programmes from pre-university to 3+0 university degrees. In view of our growth and expansion of the portfolios of programmes and the imminent relocation of our School of Hospitality Management to the George Town UNESCO Heritage site, we are now seeking inspired, committed, positive and performance-oriented people to fill the following vacancies:
PART TIME LECTURER
SCHOOL OF LANGUAGE & COMMUNICATION
Lecturer for Media Studies (Journalism and Broadcasting Lecturer)
Responsibilities:
- Teach and supervise students in the areas mentioned above.
- Develop, review, and update all learning materials in compliance with the syllabus and curriculum.
- Responsible for the design, administration, and marking of exams and other assessments.
- Provide academic counselling and pastoral care to all students.
- Involve in campus activities if required
Requirements:
- Must possess a minimum of a Master Degree in Communication specialization in Journalism, Film and Broadcasting and Bachelor’s degree in communication specialization in Journalism & Broadcasting from a recognized University and the relevant areas of expertise.
- Preferably, candidates with 1-2 years of teaching experience at the tertiary level.
- Fresh graduates or Candidates with industrial experience are welcome to apply.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with high oral and written competency in English.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Ability to work in a Team.

Account Executive
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all areas in the accounting process – Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash Management and General Ledger, including reconciliations of accounting records.
- Assist in monthly accounting closing and preparation of related management reports.
- Assist in all financial and accounts-related functions
- Perform any additional ad-hoc tasks as and when assigned from time to time
Requirements:
- Candidate must possess at least Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree and/or Professional Qualifications in Accounting
- Possess 3-5 years of working experience in the related field is required, and can handle a full set of accounts.
- Knowledge of SQL system.
- Computer literate, especially in MS Office and other Accounting Systems
- Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills with good written and spoken English command.
- Excellent team player, proactive, diligent and result-orientated.
Internship Admin Assistant/Executive (Exam Unit)
Responsibilities:
- Keep track of exam schedules, room bookings, and assign invigilators.
- Assist with student exam registrations and update the system.
- Handle basic office tasks like data entry, filing, and scanning.
- Answer student questions about exams, schedules, and results.
- Assist with other administrative tasks as needed.
Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Education, or a related field.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Librarian
Responsibilities:
- Management of the Library daily by providing high-quality services to support the teaching and learning needs of the DISTED College academic staff and students.
- Manage library functions and perform ongoing maintenance and development for the integrated library automated system. Oversee system activity such as notice generation and report generation
- Coordinates technical and circulation operations with other library services and functions.
- Provide effective access to library collections and resources by developing and maintaining collections management policies and procedures.
- Liaise with academic staff and vendors for the selection and acquisition of Library print and electronic resources.
- Acquisition and cataloguing of all Library materials.
- Conduct information literacy/information skills courses for academic staff and students.
- Management of all Library documentation related to the DISTED handbook, ISO9001-2015 Library Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and other work instructions.
- Providing information for Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) reports, and preparing other Library reports.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree with Honours in Information Science Studies (Library and Information Management or Information Resource Centre Management) recognised by the Government or other qualifications recognised as being equivalent to it.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in the field of the management of library and information centre.
- Proficient in English Language and Bahasa Malaysia.
- Excellent Interpersonal skills and IT skills.
- Knowledge of the philosophy and techniques of library service, library materials and resources.
