Job description

Our client an Industrial Building Construction, with a head office in Johor Bahru is looking for a Piping Engineer for their project in Nusajaya.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee all activities related to piping, ensuring compliance with project specifications and standards.
• Handle the receipt and inspection of piping materials (pipes, valves, bends, etc.), verifying they meet the required specifications.
• Supervise the installation and erection of piping systems as per P&ID (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams) and isometric drawings.
• Ensure accurate and proper connection of piping systems to equipment and machinery, following project guidelines.
• Coordinate and supervise testing procedures, such as hydrostatic tests, to ensure the reliability and integrity of the piping systems, as well as commissioning related equipment.
• Address and resolve any issues on punch lists within the given deadlines, ensuring full compliance with project requirements.
• Participate in all relevant project meetings, site inspections, and reviews to monitor progress and ensure project milestones are met.
• Develop and maintain effective schedules for piping work to ensure timely completion.
• Collaborate closely with the project management team and clients, providing regular updates on work status and progress to ensure alignment with project objectives.
• Ensure smooth coordination between vendors and contractors on-site, addressing any issues to maintain efficiency and adherence to timelines.
• Ensure all piping-related quantities are accurately certified by the client prior to submission for Certificate of Payment (COP) preparation.
• Verify that all project documentation, including as-built drawings, catalogues, and Testing & Commissioning (T&C) documents, are fully certified by relevant parties before final submission.
• Perform any additional duties as instructed by the project team, maintaining flexibility and adaptability to meet project requirements.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of proven experience as a Piping Engineer, with a strong focus on project execution.
• Experience working with Project Management Consultants (PMC) is highly preferred.
• Technical Proficiency:
• Strong understanding and ability to interpret P&IDs (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams), GAD (General Arrangement Drawings), and 3D models.
• Expertise in piping execution processes, including material handling and system installation.
• Familiarity with piping quality testing procedures such as material identification, welding inspections, support systems, pneumatic & hydrostatic testing, insulation, and handover documentation.
• In-depth knowledge of clean piping and process piping, including material selection and system requirements.
• Ability to apply technical expertise practically and proactively on-site.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members.

Job Type: Contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: Up to RM14,000.00 per month
