This role is for one of our clients a premier cloud data and AI consultancy firm, they specialize in delivering tangible business outcomes for the most forward-thinking enterprises worldwide, leveraging state-of-the-art cloud technologies. The company is headquartered in the UK, with a division serving the Americas located in Canada. The Canadian team operates fully remotely, with team members primarily spread across North and South America. This role is for a client located in Malaysia.
Role requirements
We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our team as an independent contributor. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional passionate about bridging software development and IT operations to enhance our infrastructure’s stability, scalability, and performance. You’ll focus on streamlining and automating our CI/CD pipelines, enabling faster and more reliable software releases while driving project leadership and client engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support continuous integration and continuous delivery processes.
- Automate deployment and operational tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual work.
- Oversee the performance and stability of infrastructure to support scalable software solutions.
- Take an active role in client discussions, contributing to solution design, and building trusted relationships with prospects.
- Lead project scoping and delivery, ensuring engagements align with client needs and expectations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to find creative solutions for technical challenges.
- Drive continuous improvement and maintain a mindset focused on automation.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer with a strong background in CI/CD, automation, and infrastructure management.
- Proficiency in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Python, Terraform and GenAI.
- Ability to independently scope and lead projects, including technical aspects and client interactions.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to foster teamwork and build client trust.
- A proactive and problem-solving mindset focused on continuous improvement and scalability.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in leading client-facing engagements.
- Familiarity with DevOps best practices, cloud infrastructure, and scripting languages.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and lead project-related discussions and decisions.
Location: Asia / Europe / USA / Canada - fully Remote
Contract: We are looking for Independent Contractors
Timezone: 6 - 8 hour overlap with Malaysian timezone
Availability: ASAP, full-time (40 hours/week)
