Job Purpose
- The merchandising managers play an important role in driving the growth of the ecommerce categories.
Job Responsibilities
- Sourcing and Sales : responsible for identifying and selecting vendors and suppliers who can provide the merchandise required by the company and closing the sellers to be onboard with the company platform.
- Product Assortment: : responsible for selecting and managing the product assortment, including identifying new products to introduce, managing inventory levels, and discontinuing products that are no longer selling well.
- Negotiating: You will be required to negotiate with vendors on pricing, margins, delivery, and other terms to ensure that the company secures the margins required.
- Purchasing: To account for and approve all retail buying (trade) within buying limit authority, setting of effective selling price to achieve company’s approved Gross Profit.
- Vendor Relationship Management: You are responsible for managing relationships with vendors and suppliers ensuring that they meet the company’s expectation and suppliers. A category lead works closely with suppliers to ensure that the products are delivered on time and meet quality standards.
- Analyse sales performance and data: A category lead monitors sales performance and campaign or promotions performance to review effectiveness. Uses data to identify trends, evaluate product performance, and adjust the product assortment or pricing strategy as needed to ensure effectiveness.
- Work with marketing teams: collaborates with marketing team to develop marketing campaigns and promotions that drive sales and customer engagement.
- Work with Operations: Working closely with the operations team to ensure listings are accurate and professional listed – responsible to approve the listings before going live and overall order fulfillment to grow sellers' business and ensure smooth operations
- Work with Channel Sales to understand the target consumer to provide the accurate product assortment
- Market Trends to be in the knows of market trends and updated with competitor and market demands and ensuring that merchandize sources are market demands . To conduct sales and range reviews periodically to gain insights to purchase & redemption trends, undertaking continuous improvement of the SKU offering
Job Requirements
- The individual should have a proven track record of successful negotiations and relationship management (both internal and external).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal with proven ability to represent your organization in external meetings.
- Demonstrated ability to influence others, multi-tasking and meeting deadlines.
- High learning agility, and passionate in driving results – comfortable in fast-moving entrepreneurial environment.
- Passionate in improving both customer and seller excellence.
- Team spirit and enthusiasm in daily development growth
