Job Responsibilities will include but not limited to:
System Administration:
* Monitor server performance and availability.
* Performance tuning of database systems, Install, configure, and maintain Linux-based systems and database applications.
* Troubleshoot issues and analyze system logs.
* Ensuring all hardware and software are updated.
* Setting up cybersecurity measures, ensure data security, access control, backup, and recovery procedures.
Database Management:
* Configuring servers and databases.
* Manage and maintain all production and non-production databases.
* Extracting and/or loading data
* Design, test, implement, and maintain databases across multiple platforms.
* Preserving data integrity, optimizing database access and allocating/reallocate resources for optimum configuration and performance.
* Develop and implement database backup and recovery strategies to ensure data reliability and minimize downtime.
* Configure database parameters, responsible for backup and recovery.
Collaboration:
* Work closely with application developers, technical managers, and business analysts.
* Collaborate with team members to build out new systems and services.
Problem Solving:
* Fix outstanding issues promptly.
* Develop new solutions to enhance system efficiency.
Required education, skills and experience include:
* Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology or Engineering, combined with 4+ years’ experience in related field.
* Relevant Database administration certifications, such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate.
* A minimum of 3 years' experience as a Linux and database administrator.
* Highly proficient with Linux and Unix-based systems, working knowledge of Microsoft OS is a plus.
* Proficiency in SQL, including MS SQL, Oracle Database, Hadoop, or PostgreSQL. Working knowledge of T-SQL and PL-SQL is a plus.
* Proficiency in Linux command-line tools.
* Experience with shell scripting and automation tools (e.g., Python, Perl, Bash).
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
