Role Overview
As a Narrative Designer Intern, you will work closely with the Narrative Design team to help bring our world, story, and characters to life. You’ll gain hands-on experience in writing, dialogue design, quest design, and the broader narrative development process. This internship will give you the opportunity to grow your skills in a collaborative, fast-paced environment while contributing to the creation of impactful, player-driven narratives.
What You Can Expect To Work On
- Collaborate on Story Development: Work with narrative designers to brainstorm and develop story ideas, plotlines, and character arcs.
- Write Dialogue and Content: Assist in writing character dialogue, narrative text, and in-game events to enhance the player experience.
- Quest Design Support: Design and document quest structure and objectives that drive the game's narrative.
- Worldbuilding: Assist in the creation of lore, setting details, and backstory to deepen the game world’s immersion.
- Playtesting and Feedback: Participate in playtesting sessions and provide feedback on the narrative elements, identifying opportunities for improvements.
- Research and Inspiration: Conduct research on storytelling techniques, games, books, films, and other media to inspire the narrative design process.
- Documentation: Document narrative elements and maintain clarity in game design documents.
Requirements
What You Need to Succeed
- Passion for storytelling and familiarity with interactive narrative design.
- Excellent writing and editing skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to think critically and collaborate within a team environment.
- Strong understanding of game mechanics and how they interact with narrative structure.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Docs
- Knowledge of narrative design principles and an understanding of how storytelling impacts player engagement and experience.
- Ability to accept feedback and iterate on creative work.
