JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Maintain both radio and TV transmission systems functions and ensure station meets broadcast technical specification.
- Minimizing loss of radio & TV service when equipment fails by quickly identifying and implementing alternative methods of service provisioning.
- Conduct regular RF, radio transmission & video baseband system monitoring checks and tests - Monitor all transmission paths, system performance, checks for errors.
- Conduct ARSB transmitter site across peninsular Malaysia, Sabah & Sarawak to attend immediate faults
- Conduct quarterly radio field strength measurements and produce report
- Maintain Fault Report System - Document all system faults, investigate the cause, identify the solution, escalate to senior staff as necessary, maintain total down time reports.
- Support - Assist Broadcast Operations, Broadcast Transmission & Projects teams with all system and collaboration with the projects.
- Rectification and maintenance works of transmission equipment - Provide first level support for transmission. Coordinate with personnel at transmission site facilities for maintenance and rectification works. Identify the root cause of fault in equipment and system. Perform tasks specific to area of expertise reliably, skilfully, and accurately.
OPERATIONS:
- Operate and monitor all systems within the department as per the procedures.
- Verify back-up systems are in place and in good working condition.
- Adhere to the Divisional escalation workflow.
- Liaise with internal/external customers to coordinate operational activities.
- Coordinating and planning of events/activities.
- Provide system training on transmission systems within the department.
- Evaluation of systems/equipment and recommend/suggest upgrade.
- Perform first line maintenance immediately on all faults notified/noted.
- Liaise with program providers to identify and rectify faults and all other technical issues.
- Conduct periodic site visits to radio transmitter sites to ensure system health is up to par.
- Conduct immediate troubleshooting at site to minimize on air downtime
PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE
- Conduct preventive maintenance work as per the procedures for entire RF transmission system.
- Implement and track all preventive maintenance activities.
- Plan and schedule all preventive maintenance activities.
CORRECTIVE MAINTENANCE
- Perform and assist with corrective maintenance as per the procedures.
- Ensure the agreed KPIs are met when carrying out corrective maintenance.
- Assign and track all corrective maintenance activities.
TECHNICAL STANDARDS & QUALITY CONTROL
- Ensure system functions according to specifications.
- Plan and schedule checks to verify system meets technical specifications.
- Identify and update records for systems that requires periodic technical specification checks.
INFORMATION PROCESSING
- Generate shift reports which are comprehensive and factual.
- Ensure communication with internal and external parties are accurate and on time.
- Prepare operational/monthly reports and ensure that the reports are comprehensive and factual.
- Perform statistical analysis.
- Generate/compile technical and ad-hoc reports as and when required and ensure that the reports are comprehensive and factual.
- Generate, review and update SOP/SWSP/SWHA.
- Record keeping of all PM and CM activities.
DATABASE ADMINISTRATION
- Maintain and perform regular inventory checks on all technical spares and faulty parts.
- Perform regular inventory checks on systems.
- Maintain and update the documentation database of all equipment within the department.
SYSTEM INTEGRATION
- Conduct systems acceptance tests
REQUIREMENTS:
WHO YOU ARE:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications or Electrical & Electronics Engineering from a recognized University/College
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications and other related software.
- Good command in English (written & spoken) and able to write detailed technical reports
- Good team player
- Skilful in analysing issues and providing solutions towards it
- Innovative
- Ethical and good behaviour
- 2 years experience in handling RF system i.e. radio transmitter, NMS system.
