The Facility Technician is responsible for maintaining and ensuring the proper functioning of facility systems and equipment at [company/organization name]. This includes performing routine inspections, carrying out repairs, and assisting with upgrades to support a safe, efficient, and comfortable work environment. The Facility Technician works closely with the Maintenance and Facilities team to troubleshoot issues, handle preventive maintenance, and respond to emergency repairs, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance and Repair
Perform routine maintenance on facility systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, and safety systems.
Diagnose and repair issues with facility equipment and systems to prevent or reduce downtime.
Ensure all repairs and maintenance activities meet company standards and regulatory requirements.
Preventive Maintenance
Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, lubricating, adjusting, and testing equipment.
Maintain detailed records of all maintenance work, including inspections and repairs, within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Identify potential issues before they become major problems and report them to the Facilities Manager.
Facility Inspections and Monitoring
Conduct regular inspections of facility areas to ensure safety, functionality, and compliance with building codes and health standards.
Monitor systems to detect potential problems, such as leaks, malfunctions, or areas that require adjustment.
Assist in monitoring energy use, identifying areas for conservation, and recommending efficiency improvements.
Health, Safety, and Compliance
Follow safety protocols and ensure that work practices comply with OSHA and other regulatory standards.
Ensure proper use and handling of tools, equipment, and hazardous materials, maintaining a clean and safe workspace.
Participate in safety training and actively contribute to maintaining a safe facility environment.
Support for Facility Upgrades and Renovations
Assist in facility renovation or upgrade projects, including setting up new equipment, dismantling old systems, and coordinating with contractors as needed.
Collaborate with the Facilities team to implement facility modifications and improvements, ensuring minimal disruption to day-to-day operations.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification is preferred.
1+ years of experience in facility maintenance, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or a related field.
Knowledge of facility maintenance systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building upkeep.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and maintenance schematics.
Proficiency with tools, equipment, and safety practices related to facility maintenance.
Basic computer skills and familiarity with maintenance software is a plus.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: RM2,000.00 - RM5,493.11 per month
