Job Description: 1) Material Analysis and Testing: - Perform detailed analysis of raw material (e.g., resins, polymers) and compounds used in manufacturing. - Conduct physical, chemical, and thermal tests to evaluate the properties of plastics, such as tensile strength, impact resistance, melt flow index, density, and thermal stability. - Use laboratory equipment (e.g., spectrometers, chromatographs, viscometers) to test and verify material specifications. 2) Material Performance Evaluation: - Analyze the performance of plastic materials under various processing conditions and environmental factors (heat, pressure, UV exposure). - Work with production teams to ensure that materials used in molding and other manufacturing processes perform optimally in term of quality, durability, and cost efficiency. - Evaluate and recommend adjustment to materials used in molding and other manufacturing efficiency. 3) Material Sourcing and Supplier Evaluation: - Assist in the selection of appropriate raw materials for manufacturing, ensuring they meet product specifications and regulatory standards. - Work with suppliers to evaluate new materials or alternative sourcing options, ensuring they meet performance and cost requirements. - Monitor the consistency and quality of materials by vendors, coordinating with procurement and supply chain teams to resolve any issues related to materials quality or availability. 4) Collaboration with Cross- Functional Teams: - Collaborate with R&D and product development teams to help select and test new plastic materials, or formulation for new products. - Work closely with production teams to optimize materials usage and reduce waste during the manufacturing process.
