Structural and Piping Engineer - Malaysia

We are looking for talented Structural and Piping Engineers to join our team in Malaysia. This dual role will involve structural and piping engineering responsibilities, focused on providing quality solutions for challenging oil and gas projects. You will work across disciplines to support design integrity, technical resolution, and project milestones.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Structural Engineering

Perform structural design from concept to detailed design phase.

Validate designs and prepare calculation reports, using tools like Sesam GeniE, STAAD.Pro, or SACS.

Apply knowledge of standards like AISC, API, DNVGL, Euro codes, and develop local calculations with spreadsheets/Mathcad.

Ensure the engineering design is accurately represented in a 3D collaborative environment/database and reflected in structural drawings.

Review structural drawings for constructability, integration, and installation.

Prepare and review MTO & Weight Control reports.

Liaise with other disciplines to achieve a compliant and cohesive design, responding to technical queries from clients, classification societies (e.g., ABS, DNV, BV), and construction teams.

Piping Engineering

Oversee piping material specifications, including specialty items, ensuring solutions are safe, cost-effective, and compliant with project requirements.

Apply technical knowledge to assess gaps, identify best solutions, and align with budgetary constraints.

Collaborate with Piping Discipline Lead Materials, Supply Chain, and Construction teams for continuous quality improvement.

Resolve project issues using a network of technical experts, documenting lessons learned.

Review and manage package engineering, vendor data, piping list, bulk management, and prepare piping specifications and datasheets.

Ensure deliverables meet industry standards (ABS, API, ASME, ASTM) and comply with all applicable codes and regulations.

REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering; Professional Engineer certification preferred.

Experience:

Structural Engineers: Entry-level and junior profiles welcome.

Piping Engineers: Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in topside module design for offshore structures (FPSOs, Semi-Submersibles).

Technical Skills: Proficiency in design software, familiarity with international standards, and tools like Aveva Engineering is an asset.

Language: Proficient in English.
