Bhd., Langkawi, Malaysia Department: Finance & Accounting Reports To: Finance Manager / Head of Finance Job Summary: The Senior Accounting Executive at LangkawiBook (LB Travel Tech Sdn. Bhd.) will oversee and manage key accounting functions to support the company’s financial health. This role is crucial for ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulatory standards, and providing insights for strategic financial decision-making. The Senior Accounting Executive will also be responsible for guiding junior team members and assisting with process improvements within the accounting department. Key Responsibilities: Financial Reporting: - Prepare and maintain monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with regulatory standards and company policies. - Conduct month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of reports. - Review and analyze financial data to provide insights into the company’s financial performance. Accounts Payable and Receivable Management: - Oversee the accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely processing of payments and collections. - Reconcile account balances and bank statements, addressing any discrepancies promptly. - Work closely with suppliers and clients to resolve billing and payment issues. Budgeting and Forecasting: - Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, including variance analysis. - Provide insights to help improve budget accuracy and support business goals. Tax and Regulatory Compliance: - Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, including SST, corporate income tax, and other applicable taxes. - Prepare and submit tax filings, working closely with tax advisors as necessary. - Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulatory requirements relevant to the company. Internal Controls and Audit Support: - Develop and implement internal controls to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial transactions. - Support internal and external audits by preparing required documentation and addressing auditor inquiries. - Identify and suggest process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce risk. Team Leadership and Development: - Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting team members. - Assist in training new hires and facilitating their understanding of company processes and systems. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline accounting processes and provide financial insights. Ad-hoc Financial Analysis and Projects: - Perform ad-hoc financial analysis as required to support management decision-making. -Participate in special projects and initiatives to enhance the financial and operational performance of the company. Qualifications: - Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA) are an advantage. - Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in accounting or finance, with a focus on financial reporting and compliance. Skills: - Strong knowledge of accounting principles and Malaysian tax regulations. -Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Excel. - Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
