• Have a strong knowledge of the Cambridge International IGCSE syllabus and be able to confidently deliver the IGCSE programme. A proven track record will be recognised and incentives will be meted accordingly. • Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing, using proper grammar and vocabulary. Ability to communicate in a second language (i.e. Mandarin, Japanese, Korean etc.) would be an added advantage. • Teach, assess and educate students in accordance to the Cambridge Teacher's Standard by ensuring high levels of professional practice and quality of teaching and learning (T&L) of the subject is meticulously carried out throughout one’s charge, whilst nurturing a culture where teachers view themselves essentially as facilitators of learning and reflective practitioners. • Be an excellent team player, working co-cooperatively with other departments. • Have a pleasant disposition and high standard of community spirit. • Undertake any additional duties and responsibilities, attend school functions and participate in school meetings as may be required by the Principal and/or Upper Management. • Demonstrate international mindedness in all areas of work and display respect for diverse cultures, languages and traditions. • Advise and co-operate with the Principal, Head of Secondary, Heads of Department, Ministry’s Education Officers, and other teachers in the preparation and development of courses of study, teaching materials, teaching programmes, methods of teaching and assessment and pastoral care arrangements. • Participate in In-Service education and training courses as well as in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) opportunities, and taking part in action research exercises. • Maintain good order and discipline amongst students under one’s care and safeguarding their health and safety at all times. • The duties will include creating interesting, motivating and differentiated lesson plans, preparing and delivering lessons, playing an active and positive pastoral role, creating and supervising activities for students, evaluating student performance, maintaining classroom records, meeting with parents, teachers and other professionals and participating in general school events.
