Assistant HR Manager / HR Manager (Generalist) – Fintech (Malaysia based)
JOB SUMMARY:
The Assistant HR Manager (Generalist) (Malaysia based) is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the human resources function for the region. This includes leading the development and implementation of HR policies, programs, and initiatives to support the organization's strategic goals and cultivate a positive, engaged, and high-performing workforce. The HR Manager will serve as a strategic business partner, collaborating with department heads and providing guidance on employee relations, talent management, compensation and benefits, and compliance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Employee Relations
- Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and best practices
- Investigate and resolve employee complaints, grievances, and disciplinary issues in a fair and timely manner
- Maintain detailed documentation and ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations
Talent Management
- Develop and execute effective talent acquisition strategies to attract, assess, and retain top talent
- Oversee the onboarding and orientation of new hires, ensuring a seamless transition into the organization
- Design and implement learning and development programs to enhance employee skills and career growth
- Manage the performance management process, including goal setting, feedback, and performance reviews
Compensation and Benefits
- Analyze compensation data and benchmark against industry standards to ensure competitive and equitable pay
- Administer the company's benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off
- Serve as the main point of contact for employees regarding compensation and benefits inquiries
HR Operations
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, ensuring compliance with data privacy and security protocols
- Oversee the processing of payroll, timekeeping, and other HR administrative tasks
- Collaborate with the IT department to implement and maintain HR information systems and technologies
Compliance and Reporting
- Ensure the company's HR practices and policies comply with all relevant labor laws, regulations, and industry standards
- Prepare and submit required HR-related reports and documentation to internal and external stakeholders
- Stay informed of changes in employment legislation and best practices, and communicate updates to the organization
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum 6 years of experience in a generalist HR role, preferably in the financial services / fintech industry
- Thorough understanding of HR best practices, labor laws, and compliance requirements
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with all levels of the organization
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to drive decision-making
- Fluent in English and conversation in Chinese
