Job Description

Role summary:

This role is expected to oversee and accountable for the payroll processing for APAC region, ensuring efficient and accurate payroll operation and compliance with statutory regulations. This position will have professional career development opportunity with regional exposure MNC environment. The successful candidate will report to the Regional Payroll Sr. Manager. The role will streamline and strengthen Payroll operating rhythm while concurrently manage stakeholders and the team’s continuous improvement projects.

About The Role

  • Agile and Continuous Improvement (CI) mindset. Track record in leading improvement projects across APAC, enhancing operational efficiency and compliance with local tax and labor laws.
  • Process Optimization: Lead CI projects to improve payroll processes, applying technology and best practices to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Compliance Assurance: Ensure payroll operations comply with internal and external audits and ICFR.
  • Stakeholder Management: Cultivate relationships with stakeholders and third-party vendors, ensuring performance standards and compliance requirements are met.
  • Team Leadership: Motivate team members, providing coaching on daily operations and encouraging a culture of knowledge sharing.
  • Operational Oversight: Oversee daily payroll operations, managing SLAs, queries, and reporting deadlines
  • Escalation Management: Serve as the first contact for escalated payroll issues, resolving them swiftly.
  • Audit Accountability: Oversee payroll, tax, and statutory audits, ensuring preparation and compliance.
  • Business Continuity Planning: Regular review and test BCP processes to ensure readiness and in payroll operations.

Qualifications

  • Advanced Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in HR, Finance, Statistics, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum 7+ years of extensive experience in multi-country payroll practices within a multinational corporation (MNC)
  • Track record in managing payroll processing across multiple countries, with specific experience in Australia, India, and China being a significant advantage.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and coaching teams, with a preference for candidates who have held senior roles.
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll practices, compliance, and regulatory requirements specific to the APAC region.
  • Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma, RPA, Macros, Tableau, automation tools, and GenAI .
  • Experience in project management and leading programs to go live in continuous improvement projects.
